BVICAM's International Journal of Information Technology , 2011,
Abstract: Mobile devices are used for conveying important information. Opportunity exist to introduce users to different application of resource constraint mobile device Currently, the client is forced to continuously poll for updates from potentially different data sources, such as, e-commerce, on-line auctions, stock and weather sites, to stay up to date with potential changes in content. We employ a pair of proxies, located on the mobile client and on a fully-connected edge server, respectively, to minimize the battery consumption caused by wireless data transfers to and from the mobile device. The client specifies his interest in changes to specific parts of pages by highlighting portions of already loaded web pages in her browser. The edge proxy polls the web servers involved, and if relevant change have occurred, it aggregates the updates as one batch to be sent to the client. The proxy running on the mobile device can pull these updates from the edge proxy, either on-demand or periodically, or can listen for pushed updates initiated by the edge proxy. We also use SMS messages to indicate available updates and to inform the user of which pages have changed.

International Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences , 1995, DOI: 10.1155/s0161171295000421
Abstract: The study of CR-submanifolds of a K ¤hler manifold was initiated by Bejancu [1]. Since then many papers have appeared on CR-submanifolds of a K ¤hler manifold. Also, it has been studied that generic submanifolds of K ¤hler manifolds [2] are generalisations of holomorphic submanifolds, totally real submanifolds and CR-submanifolds of K ¤hler manifolds. On the other hand, many examples C2 of generic surfaces in which are not CR-submanifolds have been given by Chen [3] and this leads to the present paper where we obtain some necessary conditions for a generic submanifolds in a locally conformal K ¤hler manifold with four canonical strucrures, denoted by P, F, t and f, to have parallel P, F and t. We also prove that for a generic submanifold of a locally conformal K ¤hler manifold, F is parallel iff t is parallel.

Abstract: In this paper we introduce the notion of generalised Cauchy-Riemann (GCR) lightlike submanifolds of indefinite Kenmotsu manifold which includes invariant, contact CR, contact screen Cauchy-Riemann (contact SCR) lightlike subclasses [12]. A condition has been discussed for GCR-lightlike submanifold of an indefinite Kenmotsu manifold to be minimal. We have also studied totally contact umbilical GCR-lightlike submanifolds. Examples of GCRlightlike submanifold of an indefinite Kenmotsu manifold have also been given

Abstract: A high-quality manufacturing system should be capable to meet the company goals. Moreover, it is essential for any organization that its manufacturing system should be aligned with company’s strategy. There is always a potential for improvement in components of manufacturing systems but it is also essential to identify theparticular areas of the components that need improvement. In this paper, we have discussed the most appropriate criterion for good manufacturing systems with the help of a survey that indentified the importance of seven different criteria according to the experts experience and we ranked them accordingly.

Abstract: Mechanical bowel preparation is routinely done before colorectal surgeries to reduce morbidity and mortality all over the world. The role of mechanical bowel preparation in preventing complications is recently disputed. The aim of the study was to assess whether elective colorectal surgery can be performed without mechanical bowel preparation. This cross sectional comparative study was carried out to assess the role of mechanical bowel preparation in post-operative complications in elective colon and rectal surgery in the department of surgery of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Dhaka Medical College Hospital and SSMC-Mitford Hospital during the period of 1st January 2007 to 31st December 2007. Fifty patients undergoing surgery for carcinoma of colon and rectum were included in the study. Patients were allocated in two groups by non-probability convenient consecutive technique-one group with mechanical bowel preparation with polyethylene glycol and one group with no preparation before surgery. All patients in the study group were followed up for at least one month after surgery for wound infection, anastomotic leakage and intra-abdominal infection. Total 50 patients were randomly divided into two groups (group A, 25 patients & Group B, 25 patients). Group A was the preparatory group and Group B was the non-preparatory group. The type of surgical procedure and the type of anastomosis did not differ significantly between two groups. Sixty percent patients of group A developed post-operative complications; on the other hand 40% patients of group B developed post-operative complications. My study proved that no advantage is gained by pre-operative mechanical bowel preparation and can be easily avoided in order to save the patient from unwanted events like nausea, vomiting, electrolyte imbalance and also increased chance of post-operative complication. Abstract: To address environmental issues and cost effectiveness, waste management is necessary for healthcare facilities. Most importantly, segregation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste must be done as in many developing countries; disposal of both types of healthcare waste is done together, which is an unsafe practice. Waste generated in hospitals needs proper management to minimise hazards for patient and healthcare workers. At the same time, it is quite difficult for hospitals to find a systematic way to select appropriate suppliers for hospital waste management. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to identify, validate, and rank criteria that are essential for hospital waste management suppliers’ selection. The analytical hierarchal process approach has been used and a survey from Pakistan’s largest city (Karachi) has been considered to rank the most appropriate criteria that is necessary to select the supplier, especially in a developing country like Pakistan. Results show that waste management cost (45.5%) and suppliers’ details (31.5%) are the top two main criteria for supplier selection; and storage cost (15.7%), waste handling cost (14.7%), and qualification of the suppliers (10.9%) are the top three most important overall sub-criteria for supplier selection for hospital waste management

Abstract: Abnormally low position (drooping) of the upper eye lid is called ptosis. Common practices in correction of ptosis are different types of surgical procedures like, Fasanella-Servat procedure, Levator resection, Frontalis brow suspension (sling), Aponeurosis strengthening etc. In sling operation different types of materials are used, like, autogenus fascialata, cadaver fascilata, skin, sclera, collagen and artificial eg. Prolene, ethibond, silicone, supramid, mersilene mesh, goretex etc. The aim of study is to establish that use of prolene in sling operation gives better result. The study was carried out at BSMMU. A total thirty cases were selected for study. Technique of operation was Frontalis brow suspension (sling) procedure using prolene. The follow-up period was three months to six months. Final outcome of ptosis correction was good outcome in 24 (80%) patients out of 30. So prolene use in sling operation has excellent tensile strength, good handling properties, permanent result and better tolerance. Faridpur Med. Coll. J. Jan 2017;12(1): 31-33

International Journal of Clinical Medicine (IJCM) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/ijcm.2014.519151
Abstract: Background: Helicobacter pylori is the most common chronic bacterial infection, and a significant etiological factor in acid peptic diseases and gastric cancer. Dyspepsia is a common gastrointestinal disorder, and the most common indication for gastroscopy. Detection of H. pylori during endoscopy has become standard clinical practice. Elevated levels of inflammatory markers such as C-reactive protein (CRP), are associated with pathological changes, and hence give useful information for exact diagnosis and therapy. Objectives: To determine the relationship between endoscopic findings, highly sensitive C-reactive protein level (hs-CRP) and H. pylori infection among dyspeptic patients using serological tests, stool antigen for H. pylori and antral histology. Methods: This was a prospective study; patients with dyspepsia, who referred to Kurdistan Teaching Center of Gastroenterology & Hepatology in Sulaimani City were assessed, during the period of December 2012 to March 2014. They underwent gastroscopy, and biopsies were taken from the corpus and antral portions of antral portion for histopathological exam. Patients’ serum samples were tested for H. pylori infection using ELISA method to detect (IgG & IgA) anti-bodies and stool samples were examined using rapid immunoassay method to detect H. pylori antigens. hs-CRP was assessed using ELISA. Results: One hundred dyspeptic patients were included in the study. The mean age was 34.2 years and male comprised 54% of the study samples. The common findings in oesophagogastroduodenoscopy (OGD) examination were antral gastropathy (59%) and duodenal ulcer (21%). A statistically significant (P < 0.01) correlation was found between hs-CRP and H. pylori IgG and IgA levels (titer). There was a highly significant (P < 0.01) correlation between the level of H. pylori IgG and the endoscopic findings. The highest serum level of H. pylori IgG was found in duodenal ulcer and antral gastritis, (88.86 ± 42.0) and (70.05 ± 35.2) Au/ml, respectively. There was a highly significant correlation (P < 0.01) between endoscopic findings and H. pylori positive antral biopsy, in duodenal ulcer, antral gastritis and duodenitis was 100%, 94.9% and 75% respectively. Also duodenal ulcer and antral gastritis showed high mean and percentage but no significant differences in both H. pylori IgA and stool Antigen.
